Stare at me again
with those bright blue sunglasses
so I can see the ocean
reflected in your eyes
Two framed landscapes
of sand and sea and skies and sun,
towels and shirts dancing in the wind,
those picture perfect frames
above your smile
I have always loved
the oceans in you
I could dive
into the depths of your mind
and watch the vivid world
underneath your surface,
those whale songs
unspoken and unsung
You'd pull me out
to splash in the waves,
the pitter patter
of jokes and banter
You'd carry me on your shoulders
And I'd find that
even in the greatest storms
you kept me safe from harm
in your bay
