rare
is the moment
sit
and stare
white crescent moon
smiles
sunny blue sky
the whole world melts away
it’s just
moon and me
sitting
in front of a closed window
sweating
the heat of summer
Detroit
I see
backyard
cracked concrete
dead grass
green trees
peeling paint
old house
rotting wood
time stands still
when was the last time
you stared
at something
mundane
not beautiful
not spectacular
not complex
new or old
mundane
the stuff of daily life
you don’t see
on phone screens or Netflix
billboards or ads
no glossy filters
no exoticism
no morbid fascination
no pity
just there
bliss of
quiet mind
you’re alive
