Not Woman Enough For Me

You.

Who are not woman enough for me,

You.

Who are not what I thought you would be

The unknowing all-knowing

The flawless one

The unselfaware

Who wears anger

like the red mask of a clown

with wild eyes

bewildered

possessed

like a laughing hyena

uncontrolled

uncontrollable

Who found his hands

wrapped around the throat

of his twelve year old daughter

The grown man who throws out of kitchen drawers

objects soaring like shells and stars

the milky way

the wrong way

The old man

whose old hollow bones

beat

to a disjunct calypso

as he threatens to hit his daughter

at her sister’s wedding

Sorry is not a word in your universe
